Reclaiming Mars / Aries energy as a woman
Aries / Mars energy often gets misrepresented, especially when it’s in relation to a woman.
Many associate this energy with being conflict-prone, impatient, or “being too much”.
If you’re a woman with a prominent Aries / Mars energy in your natal chart, this has probably been the theme song of your life.
You’ve probably been told to dim yourself in more ways than one over the years, and chastised into being agreeable, nurturing, and non-confrontational instead.
But under the surface, what we’re really dealing with when it comes to Aries / Mars is our relationship to self-authority - how we go after what we want, how we stand our ground, and how we ignite new beginnings.
Why should women be less entitled in this department?
For those of us socialized to dim this fire, the energy of Aries / Mars can feel foreign or even dangerous.
And yet, every time we ignore this part of ourselves, it doesn’t just vanish. It shows up as tension in the body, unexplained resentment, passive-aggression, or even health issues.
Or it spills out in ways we can't quite control - sudden anger, frustration, or a sharp "no" after years of polite “yes."
This is the cost of being raised in a culture where female anger is unwelcome and ambition is quietly judged (mostly by other women!)
Many of us were told to “be nice” when what we really needed was to assert boundaries, name our desires, or simply say “no” without an explanation.
Astrology teaches us that Aries / Mars energy is necessary for healthy individuation.
It helps us act decisively, advocate for ourselves and our beliefs, carve new paths when the old ones feel too tight or outdated, and not only reach for but also achieve goals that take grit and daring.
Without Aries / Mars, our lives can feel stagnant, like we’re constantly waiting for an external force to give us permission to act.
Here’s why this theme is crucial right now and going forward.Saturn and Neptune - two slow-moving planets that shape the collective - will soon weave back and forth between Pisces and Aries, until they both fully settle into Aries in 2026.
We currently have Venus retrograding through Aries, forcing us to revisit Aries / Mars matters, and we’ll have a Solar Eclipse in Aries on March 29/30.
These events mark the beginning of a long-term shift in how we, as individuals and as a collective, express power, initiative, and self-ownership.
For many, this will be a call to stop drifting (Pisces) and start acting (Aries). It will nudge us to finally confront where we’ve been avoiding hard choices, fearing rejection for our ambition, or bypassing conflict to “keep the peace.”
In its high frequency, Aries / Mars is:
✨ Courageous and clear
✨ A pioneer, unafraid to lead
✨ Direct, honest, and inspiring
✨ Able to balance boldness with integrity
In its shadow, Aries / Mars becomes:
⚡ Impulsive, reactionary, and impatient
⚡ Consumed by “me first” energy
⚡ Prone to burning bridges, dismissing nuance
⚡ Resistant to collaboration or compromiseFor women, this collective shift asks:
↠ Where have you been conditioned to hesitate, even when you know what you want?
↠ Where have you traded courage for acceptance, initiative for approval?
↠ And how has that shaped your relationship with your anger, ambition, or need for autonomy?
As this Aries / Mars portal opens collectively, we’re invited to explore how we can own healthy Mars energy without abandoning our empathy or relational intelligence. For me, these have been, and continue to be, deeply personal lessons.
I was born on and currently live on my Mars line, which imbues my day-to-day with these very challenges.
Navigating previous workplaces where my assertiveness was seen as “difficult” or “intense” while watching my male peers earn respect for the same qualities.
Forcing myself to collaborate when what I really wanted to do was my own thing, on my own terms (starting my own business changed that for me).
I still feel the constant inner tug-of-war between softening to be accepted and wanting to speak with sharp clarity.
This is not just a personal matter though - it’s part of a larger invitation to rewire how we move in the world.
To embody leadership in a way that’s both heart-centered and fiercely self-directed.
So here’s what I encourage you to sit with today and in the many years to come:
↠ Where are you still waiting for permission to lead, speak up, or take action?
↠ Where does old conditioning ask you to shrink when life is asking you to step forward?
↠ And how would your life change if you trusted your ability to be both kind and assertive? This is how we reclaim Mars.
Not through fighting everything in sight - but through choosing our battles, standing tall in our values, and daring to move first when others hesitate.
And as we approach this collective Aries portal, this reclamation will only become more necessary.
The world is calling women - and anyone conditioned to mute their Aries / Mars - to claim space with intention and courage.
Aries / Mars isn’t here to make us reckless - it’s here to help us stop hiding.
